Benjamin Franklin

Franklin was born in Boston in 1706 one of 17 kids. His family didn't have enough money to send him to school so Benjamin worked for his dad. At 12 he worked for his brother who was a printer. After a fight with his brother Franklin ran away to start his own print shop and newspaper in Philadelphia.Benjamin Wrote the Pennsylvania Gazette and Poor Richard's Almanac. Benjamin invented the lighting rod, bifocals, and the glass armonica. Benjamin wrote in his newspaper that the Americans would never pay Britain's taxes. In 1776 Franklin used his writing skills to help write the Declaration of Independence.
